Using the school
By creating an account or using the campus, you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the campus.
What the school is
Ricketts University is an independent online arts education project. It is not an accredited institution, does not grant degrees or diplomas, and is not recognized by any government. Courses lead to participation and course-completion records only.
A Record of Completion confirms that you completed a course’s required lessons and studio project. It is not an academic credit, degree, diploma or professional licence.
Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your password private. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- Minimum age requirements will be set during legal review before registration opens to the public.
- Tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused.
Your work
You keep the copyright in everything you make and upload. You give the school permission to store and display it only as needed to run the campus — for example, to show a submission to the instructor reviewing it, or a portfolio piece to the audience you chose. The school will never use your work in promotion without your written permission.
Course materials
Lessons, briefs, videos, templates and other course materials belong to the school or its licensors. You may use them for your own learning and practice, but not republish, resell or share them outside the campus.
Conduct
Follow the Community Guidelines. The school may remove content or suspend accounts that break them, and will explain why where it is safe to do so.
Fees
No fees are charged at present. If paid courses or memberships are introduced, their prices, billing terms, cancellation and refund rules will be published on the Tuition page and agreed by you before any charge.
Availability and changes
The campus is under active development. Features and courses may change, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We’ll give notice of significant changes to these terms.
Limits of responsibility
Courses are educational. They do not guarantee employment, commissions, income or any particular result. The exact limitation-of-liability wording will be settled in legal review.
Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, subject to legal review.
