09Creative Community

A private studio floor, not a feed.

Students learn alongside each other in spaces built for making and critique. There's no public timeline, no follower counts and no algorithm deciding what you see.

The spaces

The Commons
The school's main hall: campus-wide discussion, department communities, showcases, creative challenges, resource exchanges and instructor announcements. Members only.
Groups
Portfolio critique groups, peer study groups, networking groups and collaboration requests. Some are open, some ask to join, some are invite-only.
Rooms & messages
Course and department chat rooms, private group conversations and one-to-one messages. You control who can message you.
Connections
Find students by discipline and shared interests, follow their work, and connect with collaborators. Only profiles that opt in can be found.

How critique works here

When you share work, you choose the kinds of feedback you want. Every critique then follows the same three-part format, so it's useful, kind and easy to act on.
  • General impressions
  • Composition
  • Typography
  • Presentation
  • Portfolio relevance
  • Technical quality
  • Commercial readiness
  • Constructive suggestions
  1. What's working

Name something specific that succeeds, and why.

  2. What isn't yet

Name one thing that holds the piece back. Describe the work, not the person.

  3. One next step

Suggest a single, concrete thing to try in the next version.

Moderated, and yours

  • Members only, adults only

Only signed-in members aged 18+ can read or post. Nothing is indexed by search engines.

  • Clear guidelines

The Community Guidelines set out what's expected and what isn't allowed.

  • Block, mute, report

Block or mute anyone. Every post, reply and message can be reported to moderators, who review each report and record every action.

  • Honest about privacy

Messages are private to conversation members and protected by access controls. They are not end-to-end encrypted.

  • Your work stays yours

The school never uses a student's work in promotion without that student's written permission.

The community opens with the first cohort. Until then, you can see how it’s laid out in the campus preview.
